Physical Therapy

We specialize in using Functional Manual Therapy® to diagnose and treat the body as an interconnected system. This hands-on approach is used in conjunction with education and home exercises tailored specifically to the patient's needs.

Meg received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mercy College in New York and joined a private practice on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. While there she developed specializations in treating runners and dancers; pelvic floor and postpartum issues; and connective tissue disorders like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Her strong interest in helping people overcome injuries and return to their sport as quickly as possible has also led her to earn certifications in emerging techniques such as trigger point dry needling, Rock Tape, Personalized Blood Flow Restriction, and Graston®. Since then she has become a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist through the APTA.

Prior to PT school, Meg earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College. As a professional dancer she worked with modern dance companies in NYC and abroad. Though her first love was dance, her desire to analyze movement and help others move sent her back to school. Meg has completed the NYC Marathon and can be seen as a fitness model on RunnersWorld.com. With a passion for fitness and wellness, Meg strives to help every person recover from injury, restore function and become their best self.

In 2020, Meg, her husband Eliot, and their two crazy boys outgrew their apartment lifestyle and relocated to North Carolina where she joined Novant Health. Despite the benefits of working in a large health network, she missed the personal relationships and broader treatment opportunities she enjoyed in private practice. In 2022, she jumped at the opportunity to join Congruency Therapy & Wellness and embrace its mission and values. Inspired by mentorship offered at the company, she is currently pursuing a certification in Functional Manual Therapy® through the Institute of Physical Art.

Alyssa received her Bachelor of Science degree and Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Carroll University. Her degrees were completed through a six-year direct admit program, which she went into due to having a strong feeling physical therapy was her calling. Prior to deciding on schooling, she was active in sports and recreationally, causing her the need for physical therapy herself due to injuries. This developed her interest in the physical therapy profession, as she always enjoyed learning about the body and being able to create a relationship with her physical therapist.

Following grad school, Alyssa started working in the outpatient orthopedic setting for a larger healthcare system. She gained valuable experience through the opportunities provided, but it wasn’t until transitioning to the private practice setting, working one-on-one with patients, that she found her true passion. Alyssa prides herself on the relationships she develops with her patients to create a positive and comfortable environment on the journey to recovery.

Alyssa enjoys treating a wide variety of patients to keep her on her toes. She is a big believer in manual therapy, which she incorporates in almost every treatment plan. She has expanded her manual treatment skills, including becoming certified in Dry Needling. She has a goal to become manual therapy certified once finding the right program for her. She is trained in treating vestibular disorders and concussions. Her approach to providing care is to team up with her patients to empower them with the tools and knowledge to stay active in everyday life.

Alyssa recently moved to Charlotte from Chicago with her husband and pup, Benny. Outside of the clinic, you can catch her checking out new coffee shops as she tries to find the best latte in town. She enjoys staying active by walking her dog, strength training and cycling.
