Kelsey completed her undergraduate degree at Appalachian State University and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Campbell University. During her time at Campbell University, she was on the executive board and assisted in the development of the pro bono clinic serving members of the rural community. The clinic still operates today, providing experience for PT students under the supervision of faculty members. While at Campbell and shortly thereafter, she completed coursework and competency testing as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy.

From a young age through college, Kelsey was a competitive athlete in volleyball, softball, and soccer. At ten years of age, Kelsey broke her ankle during a soccer game, which caused her to undergo physical therapy treatment. Ever since this experience, she has known that helping others as a physical therapist was the career path for her. Kelsey has a special interest in treating patients with pelvic floor and postpartum issues, vestibular rehabilitation, runners, and individuals who are serious about preventative care and rehabbing after injuries. She has a passion for manual therapy and has pursued certifications in other techniques such as trigger point dry needling. In her previous position, Kelsey served as an assessor of dry needling for her colleagues in multiple clinics. She was also the vestibular and concussion champion and provided continuing education to clinicians to help expand these programs. Kelsey also serves as a guest lecturer at Rowan County Community College (RCCC) PTA program lecturing on pelvic floor rehabilitation.

Kelsey is excited to join the team at Congruency and continue to hone her skills and provide excellent care to her patients. She has aspirations of completing her fellowship through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy and will be entering the program in 2024. She considers herself to be a physical therapy nerd and strives to provide excellent and individualized care to her patients to prevent injury, aid in recovery, normalize function and mechanics, and allow them to live a healthy and active lifestyle.

When not working Kelsey enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and dog. She loves to play volleyball, ride her peloton, read, and sing.

Cay received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from UNC Chapel Hill in 1993. For the first 10 years of her career, she worked mostly in inpatient and outpatient rehab as well as home health and a variety of settings across the US as a traveling physical therapist. During this time, she became interested in functional manual physical therapy and began studying extensively with the Institute of Physical Art.

Cay began practicing yoga in 2002 and loved how it complemented her client’s physical therapy sessions and improved her own physical, mental and spiritual health. She completed her yoga teacher training through the Holistic Yoga Therapy Institute in Charlotte and earned her RYT 200. In the past 10 years, she has studied Medical Therapeutic Yoga through the Professional Yoga Therapy Institute. She has taught alignment based yoga classes for the past 18 years and loves working 1:1 with clients to help them make modifications to their current yoga program or develop an individualized yoga program to further their fitness/rehab goals.

Since 2016, Cay has worked in private practice and began studying Myofascial Release and Integrative Lifestyle Medicine. She is an Advanced Myofascial Release Practitioner and utilizes the concepts of good nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management and social connection to assist her clients in reaching their wellness goals.

Cay has 3 (almost grown) children and a dog. Playing outdoors, traveling, spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, reading and learning all make her very happy. She is super excited to join the Congruency team and looks forward to helping clients reach their full potential.
